Alexandria Kirchhoff Corrie

2021-2022

Alexandria (Allie) Kirchhoff Corrie graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in May 2021 and is honored to be hosted as a Borchard Fellow in the Manhattan Housing Unit of Mobilization for Justice, in New York, NY. During law school, Allie interned with the Office of Senator Jeff Merkely (OR), Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities, and Legal Counsel for the Elderly, always pursuing her interests in the intersection of housing, aging, and mental health/disability rights. Prior to attending law school, Allie had a career as a production and stage manager in the San Francisco Bay area, where she worked to bring issues of social justice to the stage.

Allie is delighted to have the opportunity to serve low-income older adults in "clutter cases," in which tenants face eviction due to allegations of unsafe and unsanitary conditions or hoarding behavior within the home. For older adults who have diagnosable hoarding disorder, eviction is not the answer, and Allie will be working with mental health and social work partners to create holistic, person-centered solutions that will allow tenants to age in place with the safety and dignity that they are inherently due. Allie will provide direct representation to older adults in clutter cases, as well as develop cross-disciplinary training materials and tools to enable attorneys who regularly handle these cases to more effectively serve their clients.
