Roxane Crowley, will spend her Borchard fellowship year working with the SeniorLaw Center, a Philadelphia-based non-profit organization protecting the legal rights and interests of seniors in need, pursuing multi-disciplinary work to address the legal needs of seniors facing chronic illness and end of life. She will coordinate a project that aims to strengthen relationships between the medical and legal care communities in the 5-county region of Southeastern Pennsylvania and increase the quality of life of chronically ill seniors and seniors at the end of life by facilitating their access to legal services. Partnering with physicians, nurses, social workers and home health aids, Ms. Crowley and the SeniorLAW Center will work to determine misconceptions and areas for basic education among the medical community, survey providers, and develop training and direct service responses, with statewide dissemination.

Roxane Crowley conducted end-of-life medical research at the University of Pennsylvania before pursuing a career in law and began her legal career at SeniorLAW Center by providing legal services to elderly hospice patients.
